29-95 FAQ

Q. What is 29-95? A price?

You remember when Hurricane Ike kept inching closer and closer to Houston? And the weathermen kept giving you the coordinates? That's right! 29-95 is the latitude and longitude of our very own Houston, Texas. Ok ... it's actually 29.65 - 95.28. But that would make for a silly site name. Don't be so literal.

Q. Who are you people?

We are Tracy, Syd, Sara, Nicki, Lina, Jordan, John and Chris, and we prefer reverse alphabetical order. We also are Joe Mathlete, Andrew Dansby, Joey Guerra, Brett Koshkin, Daniel Carlson, Guns and Tacos and a bunch of other contributors. And we love Houston (even in August).

Q. How do I get my restaurant, club, band, venue, event, whatever listed on 29-95?

Q. How can I get 29-95 to write about my restaurant, club, band, venue, event, whatever else?

Rule number one is to be good at what you do. Rule number two is to add the appropriate contact (see above) to your mailing list so we know what you're up to. Rule number three is to contact us specifically when you're doing something worth mentioning. We swear, it's just that easy.

Q. How do I get my band/the band I represent played on Radio 29-95?

If you're a Houston-based band, please go through the channels to have your band added to the Houston Bands database. You will get yourself on the radio station through this process. If you're a touring band coming through Houston in a month's time or more, you may send your latest album to:

Sara Cress
801 Texas Ave.
Houston TX 77002

You also may mail MP3s to sara@29-95.com

Q. I thought Radio 29-95 played only Houston artists. Why am I hearing Kenny Rogers?

Kenny Rogers, we'll have you know, was born in Houston, Texas, in 1938 to Floyd and Lucille Rogers. Radio 29-95 plays a collection of Houston-based artists, artists with ties to Houston and artists coming through Houston in the coming weeks. If you're very confused about why a certain artists is playing, you can always email sara@29-95.com to find out why. Or you can Google it.

Q. How can I write for 29-95?

Make your pitch to the appropriate contact; again that would be Tracy, Syd or Sara.

Q. Why does your site say beta?

There are features that you do not see now that you will see in the future. Also, there may be bugs and imperfections, but we figured you would feel better about those if you saw the "Beta" label. Our developers sure feel better about it.
