The Joanna gallery proprietors Brian Rod, left, and Cody Ledvina sit in Ledvina's house, also the Joanna's exhibition space. Douglas Britt
Beyond the above, the Joanna is the illegitimate brain child of Cody Ledvina and Brian Rod. We started the Joanna because we were sick of seeing boring art things in Houston. Plus we wanted there to be a space devoted to emerging art and artists that are generally not seen in the Houston area commercial and institutional spectrum. The space ideally also serves as a community forum, a place for artists young and old to get together and interact.
More than a typical space or gallery, the Joanna is also a collaboration and a project. This collaboration is between Cody, Brian, and the rest of the arts community. We do not limit ourselves to merely showing visual works and hope the scope of our project reaches far beyond the walls of our space.
