From the release:
In 2008, Weiss founded the public art program for the Times Square Alliance, the business improvement district and co-producer of New Year's Eve. Through grants from the Rockefeller Foundation and Rockefeller Brothers Fund, he held brainstorming sessions with NYC art visionaries; wrote the program guidelines; and produced more than 30 events engaging hundreds of artists and performers. ...
Weiss was introduced to Houston through collaborations with Rick Lowe of Project Row Houses and the Art Guys. In 2003, Lowe and Weiss developed the Delray Beach Cultural Loop, a 1.5 mile walking trail linking the traditional white and black neighborhoods into a single artistic event. In 1986 when Weiss was the new director of 911 Contemporary Art Center in Seattle, the Art Guys stacked thousands of books into an 8-foot tall "THE."
Weiss starts his new post on Monday.
