    Friday, Oct. 9:

    Houstonist hosts 600 sq mi: Hidden, an exhibition by local photographers about Houston. 7-10 p.m. Xnihilo Gallery. Free.

    • The University of Houston School of Theater presents a most marvelous play by Oscar Wilde, The Importance of Being Earnest, at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts on the UH campus (not that place in the Woodlands). 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. $10.

    Cool Globes: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet opens today at Discovery Green. The art globes will be on display through early January. Free.

    Saturday, Oct. 10:

    • This week's featured artist, Becky Soria, has an exhibition opening at Gallery 3 called Intimacies of Conflict. 5-9 p.m. Free.

    • There's the Bayou City Art Festival, obviously. $10.

    • It's the final weekend to see Drawings on Site: Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen at the Menil. Free.
