"Teen fashion show" sounds kind of gross, but this sounds kind of cool: CAMH's Teen Council puts on a Project Runway-style fashion show with "over thirty talented young designers" presenting "ready-wear to evening gowns." Love this. Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, 5216 Montrose Blvd. 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Free.
Fiction/poetry reading presented by Inprint's Studio Series: Christine Hume and Bret Anthony Johnston. Antidote Coffee, 729 Studewood. 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Free.
Catastrophic Theatre presents Hunter Gatherers, a comedy by Peter Sinn Nachtrieb about a dinner party that starts with an animal sacrifice and tumbles out of control from there. Suggested ticket price is $25, but if you have less, you can still see the show. Pay what you can and whatnot. In these tough times, I would offer that you should pay genuinely what you can, not like, a nickel, because that's an ass-y move. Runs Wednesday-Saturday through April 11. 8 p.m. Stages Repertory Theatre, 3201 Allen Parkway.
Beaver's and Spacetaker.org present Cultured Cocktails, a weekly happy hour where some of the money you spend on booze benefits a different art organization. This week benefits the Aerosol Warfare. 5-10 p.m. Thursday at Beaver's Icehouse, 2310 Decatur. Free.
Not to be outdone, Poison Girl is holding a similar event called Drink Houston Better. This event benefits Mildred's Umbrella Theater Company. 5 p.m. Sunday at Poison Girl, 1641 Westheimer. Free.
Another Catastrophic Theatre event, this one more somber. The theatre company will honor its late member, Cary Winscott, with a music and video tribute to the actor and musician. An orchestra will perform Winscott's compositions. Discovery Green, 5-10 p.m. Sunday.
Art/experimental music show: Sandy Ewen, Wols, and Michelle Yom presented by Signal to Noise and Sound Exchange. 7 p.m. Sunday at Avant Garden, 411 Westheimer.
