Are the words "beer float" enough to make you drive to Beaumont?

Beer - proof that God loves us.: fotoliaBeer - proof that God loves us.: fotolia There is an art to beer. The people of Beaumont know this. That's why The Art of Beer at The Art Museum of Southwest Texas is made even more awesomer by the words "beer float."

Sample some of the finest specialty and seasonal beers from around the world paired with complementary food dishes. Plus beer floats, chat with brewmasters, musical entertainment and much more!

The Art of Beer event is the annual fall fundraiser for AMSET and, personally, I think it's a genius idea. What better lure than a frothy cold one? You'll have to reserve your ticket early though. Also you'll have to drive to Beaumont, but in case you didn't hear me - BEER FLOAT.

Some day the world is gonna know how cool Beaumont is.

Here's a great day: Stop at the Museum of the Gulf Coast in Port Arthur, and while in PA, see Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine and the Buddhist Temple. Swing by the Dutch windmill in Nederland. Then grab some barbecue at Patillo's in Beaumont. Then you'll be ready for your brew.

    Umm, yeah. Then beer, right?

Damn, I thought I invented that idea. Here's mine: Guinness with dark chocolate ice cream, drizzled in caramel.
