Don't ever, ever forget to tip your bartender. Especially Saturday.
"Bartender Appreciation Day" asks for "unwavering support of civil societyand its citizens' pursuit of happiness, and rightfully demand a holiday in honor of our craft, a decent tip wouldn't hurt either."
The corresponding site even offers a "toolkit" to share with your favorite mixologists. Corny, but cute.

I'm sure a lot of people will name all of the big names at all the usual drinking holes that get a lot of pub and deservedly so. But my favorite bartender in town is Niem from Hollywood Vietnamese on Montrose/Fairview. Random, yes. But that guy is always friendly and I've seen him have to deal with some really, really rude customers.
But every time my girlfriend and I stop in for a quick bite at the bar, he always greets us in a friendly manner and ALWAYS pours a stiff drink. So yeah, shout out to Niem at Hollywood.

Lola's, Double Trouble, Grand Prize...So many great bartenders. It's like choosing who is your favorite child. I love Holly at Catbirds, and Matt is definitely the fastest but all of the bartenders in the city (Montrose) are doing noble work and I love them ALL!
Mike at upstairs Royal Oak. Legit.
IAN at SRO's near 610. He makes us feel like family, and has our drinks ready before we can even get to the bar. Love him!

Mike Raymond at Reserve 101 downtown. He knows just about everything there is to know about whiskey and makes some pretty awesome cocktails.
Reserve just received the GOLD award from Whisky Mag. as one of the "Best Bars of the WORLD" !! Only 200 venues selected in the world for this and 37 of those were in the U.S.
