Any word? They have disabled the talk to box office on the phone undoubtably from all the calls.

If you call them, they tell you there is no show scheduled and that is why you can't buy tickets on the website (that's what they told me).

He did a surprise show in Austin last night to terrible reviews. Very little prepared material and hecklers took over the show. The show at the improv is probably true.

Just called and they said they've received confirmation from their G.M that their system was "hacked" and that the information going around about David Chappell being there was incorrect/misprint, etc.

I just left the IMPROV box office, there is a small line, where the box office people havent really given much info, other than "we are not sure if there is going to be a show tonight or not". From what it sounds like his show last night bombed, so he will probably cancel his appearance.

I called at 12:04pm, after trying to get through for several minutes because the line was busy. The man said there is NO Dave Chappelle show tonight, he said they were swamped with calls and they are trying to dispel the rumors. Furthermore he told me that the site that posted the information was not the official Improv site, but symphonee.com. What a shame!

Same rude rep told me there was definitely no show tonight, and that tickets would be available on their website if there were to be a show. The above link is dead now.

SarahKeel: don't believe everything you're told. These people are in damage control right now. First off symphonee is improv's website. Go to improv.com then click Houston. It will link you right to symphonee; I've ordered Improv tickets from there several times.

I'm pretty certain he cancelled due to last night's show or the weather (who knows), and now they're trying to cover it up. One person I spoke to told me it was a "misprint" then they "got hacked" all in the same breath. Not even the nerdiest of hackers would hack them just to post that; the information provided was extremely specific.

I got there around 12:30 and the people there told us that the show was still not confirmed. They let us wait in line for an hour and some guy came out and told us there would be no show. They didnt say anything about getting hacked or it being a fake story. This is one of the biggest amateur shows I have ever witnessed. They obviously leaked the news to this site and put it up on their website. They shouldn't have reported anything until they had him 100% confirmed. I should have known better I doubt he could make any money off a 150 seat venue. Lesson learned. Maybe next week they'll announce Kevin Hart or Chris Rock.

Seriously? First of all "SCEWTHEIMPROV" The IMPROV seats over 400 guests. Kevin Hart was there twice last year. Its unfortunate that someone thought it would be humorous to post incorrect information about a show for this evening. Most of these posts are untrue information, and not verified by fact. This douche bag Mike Damante has his facts wrong. Just like most liberal media retards do. Its a shame that so many people allow emotion to get involved without reading the whole story. I hope most of you do more research before you vote.

The blame should be placed solely on Improv, not the reporter doing their job. This was advertised on an official site affiliated with Improv. Clearly a publicity stunt to garner attendance.

I was in line and I was repeating what the staff of that unprofessional place told all of us. They said that the show was scheduled for that night but that it was still from being fully confirmed. They posted it on the site that sells tickets for that venue and I'm sure the reporter probably heard about the show from someone affiliated with the club. I am stating FACTS not fiction. Now to cover their ass they are saying their site got "hacked" its a bunch of BS. They shouldn't have posted anything about a show until he was confirmed to perform. They even offered free tickets to us in line, but they had certain days blacked out. I did not take any because I wasn't looking for a free ride. Like I said I probably won't return since they can't even properly confirm people performing at their club.

There was never a show. The link passed around was some old page from years ago that. You couldn't access the link from anywhere else on the website, and the damn thing had strings of random letters and numbers in it.

Someone stumbled upon it and ran with it as proof of a "secret show". The fault lies in sites like this one reporting it like it was confirmed when not a single living soul ever mentioned Chappelle playing tonight.

It's the world we live in -- rumors are news.
