Enjoy the drink and the game, help sick kids in the process

Whether it's driving an elderly family member to her doctor's appointment or going in to work with the morning's coffee and bagels.

It's a bonus when doing the right thing is accompanied by beer.

If you barflies have a heart, consider joining 29-95 in supporting Coach to Cure MD. It's a national event that raises money to help fight Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and a few Houston bars are joining the cause.

Watering holes including Christian's Tailgate Bar & Grill and Bubba’s Sports Bar & Grill (which I have heretofore deemed "Awesome Place Which I Must Revisit and Will Not Pass Out In, No Matter What You Say Dammit So Don't Judge Me") will show their support on Saturday, September 26 by hosting viewing parties for the University of Houston-Texas Tech game. Staff will wear armbands to raise awareness for the cause and proceeds from drink sales will go to the foundation. (When you watch the game, check out the coaches - they'll be sporting the armbands too.) Go, order a few drinks and feel satisfied that you're doing something good for goodness sake.

Here's a list of Houston bars that are supporting the cause:
