Hurricane Wings to open five Houston stores

We're thinking the timing of this announcement is a bit clunky, but here goes: Florida-based franchiser Hurricane Grill & Wing is blowing into Houston.

Here's the news directly from a release

Hurricane Grill & Wings is excited to announce a new development agreement, adding five new restaurants to the Houston area. Currently, the island-inspired restaurant has over 48 locations in eight different states. Hurricane Grill & Wings has one other Texas location in San Antonio that has achieved enormous success since its opening in July.

This Houston development will continue Hurricane Grill & Wings national expansion, which also includes multiple commitments in the Lone Star State including Dallas, El Paso, further expansion in San Antonio and pending agreements in McClellan. The tropical atmosphere and award-winning wings at Hurricane Grill & Wings are rapidly drawing attention on a national level. With developments constantly in the works, Hurricane Grill & Wings looks to open upwards of 20 new locations in 2013, arriving in multiple new states.

“Quickly impressed by the quality and dedication they have for providing the very best service, I am eager to open the first of many Hurricane Grill & Wings in Houston,” said franchisee Imran Dhanani. “Houston is sure to love Hurricane Grill & Wings’ great taste and family-friendly atmosphere.”

Actually, it's an statement on the newsworthiness of this item. If it had been a big deal, we would have pursued it further.

    Dear Imran Dhanani,

If you can come up with gluten-free wings and fries, you will have my business for life. I miss having wings!

Am I missing something? Unless the wings are battered, they should be gluten free. Same for the potatoes. And most wing places serve non-battered wings.
