Looking for a little local flavor?

    Try a michelada.

Often translated as “my cold beer,” it’s a cerveza-based bloody mary. A combination of beer, tomato juice, spices, a dash of Tabasco and a squeeze of fresh lime. Hold the celery. Serve in a salt-rimmed glass.

At the taquerias where it originated, it often comes to the table with the beer bottle upside down in the mug.

You'll find them at most taquerias and Tex-Mex joints. Find a list of our favorites here.

That is pretty much the nastiest thing most people put in their mouth.

I prefer not to drink beer any other way now. Over ice is best. Each to his own I guess. I wondered what that red stuff in beer was, then I tried it. I make my own at home now...yummy.

I LOVE micheladas. My husband thinks I am sick and depraved for drinking them, but that's okay.

The Chilados in the can tho - NASTY.

How is this a "local" flavor amigo?

Sorry, you have incorrectly identified this drink. This drink is a chilada. A Michilada is served over ice. Correct measurments Salted rim, ice, two limes, bloody mary mix (preferably home made) and a tecate.

A guy introduced me to Mambo's and it was a night to remember - or forget.
Great food - try the shrimp cocktail -it's unlike any I have ever had before with avacado in a sundae glass! A new one is opening by the Fishing Tackle Unlimited store so I imagine that will now be his one - two stop in Clear Lake? His two favorites things....

ohh come-on you wont find a michelda at one of the listings on the "click here". This is a good drink, try Captn Benny's or uncle tom's. Through a raw oyster in it and have a moco michealda.

I tried these in Mexico and they are very good. If you don't like the tomato juice (the Mexicans use Clamato) leave it out and just add lime, salt, chili sauce, a dash of Worcester or Magi, and beer.

Its different. Ive heard of people drinking tomato juice and beer for a hangover. dont know it until you try it. Im just sayin.
