Pick your poison: A month of tastings

Planning your month? There are plenty of ways to get your drink on in the upcoming weeks, some of which mean your bar dollars go to a worthy cause. Sounds like a win-win situation to me.

    Here's what's coming up:

    • American Microbrewery Beer Tasting at 13 Celsius
You'll get 3 oz. tastes of six beers, a little nibble action from the kitchen and a commemorative beer glass so you'll always remember the event.

The beer? Try Dogfish Head, Brooklyn Brewery and North Coast Brewery to name a few.

      Where? 13 Celsius
      When? June 10, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

    • Wild About Wine at Moody Gardens Aquarium Pyramid
Aside from the chance to get up close and personal with the animals and fish at Moody Gardens, tasters get to sip creations from Water 2 Wine, Sunset Winery, LaFuente, Messina Hof and Fall Creek Vineyards, as well as St. Arnold's Brewery.

The admission fee ($30 for a single admission, $50 for two) benefits the Center for Ecosystem Survival and the Galveston Salvation Army.
Where? Moody Gardens Aquarium Pyramid in Galveston
      When?June 13, 7 p.m. - 10 p.m.

    • Israeli Wine Tasting
Tasted Spanish wines? Check. French? Check. Italian? Check. Israeli? Umm ... well not really. Here's a chance to taste some of the wines that Israel offers, which is not something you normally hear. An Israeli wine importer will be there to fill your head with all kinds of Israeli wine knowledge.

Where? The Tasting Room at Uptown Park
      When? Monday, June 15, 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.

    • Thrill of the Grill at Leibman's Wine and Fine Foods
Try a little Peri Peri chicken and other Portuguese food while sipping fine Portuguese wine and listening to a live band at this two-hour event. Yes, pre-paid reservations are required, but think of it this way - for only $25 you get a short trip to Portugal. Totally worth it.

Where? Liebman's Wine and Fine Foods
      When? Thursday, June 25, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

    • The Pink Party at 13 Celsius
This second annual event benefits the Beth Sanders Moore Breast Cancer survivors' Program at M.D. Anderson. Think pink as you drink pink, imbibing a wide selection of pink mimosas and sangria, as well as rosés and cervezas. No word on whether the beer is pink. Which, I hope, it is not.
      Where? 13 Celsius
      When? Sunday, June 28, 1 p.m. - 8 p.m.
