Lone Star Limited Edition Bottle: Skyy Vodka
What Texan doesn’t like seeing the Lone Star shining brightly?
So what if it’s twinkling from the front of a vodka bottle? We say heck yeah!
This week Skyy Vodka is giving our great state a shout out with its Lone Star Limited Edition Bottle, available only in Texas. Lest any tail feathers get ruffled about using the Lone Star on a bottle of hooch, consider that Skyy is teaming with the Boot Campaign, which provides services to wounded American veterans.
Skyy will make a donation to the Boot Campaign for every bottle of Lone Star Limited sold. It’s available in your liquor store for $18.49 for 750 ml. (it’s regular Skyy vodka, by the way; not flavored). You can’t miss it: it’s the Skyy with a star.
Skyy also offered this recipe for using Skyy Lone Star Limited Edition. It’s a vodka take on the margarita:
Skyy vodka Lone Star-ita
2 parts Skyy Vodka
1 part lime juice
1/2 part agave nectar
Cucumber slices
Mix ingredients in a pitcher (adding as much cucumber as you like; as much as a whole cucumber for a large pitcher) and let sit for approximately 20 minutes for cucumber to steep. Add ice and pour into strain into chilled martini glasses or pour into ice-filled rocks glasses.
The Skyy Vodka Lone Star-ita.
Geesh, I would buy a bottle in a heartbeat!
But no, I am in Iowa and not in Texas.
There is a Lone Star Vodka, that is Texas made and very good. This aint that.
Tito's is much better and it is MADE here in Texas!
Tito's is imported corn whiskey that's basically just filtered and bottled. It's not Texas grain. It's not made in Texas. "Texas" and "handmade" on the bottle are lies.
Shame on the lack of Texas Hospitality!!! So don't buy it, who gives a dang!!!!
I'll stick with Tito's, thanks.
sugar is sugar, salt is salt so why pay more for a vodka made in texas
