Despite being another speck in the faceless morass of Midtown bars, Tipsy Clover does its best to maintain a space that’s free of bitter doormen and roid-raging floor managers. It’s not an unpleasant bar, just an entirely nondescript one, which is still better than some of the aggressively bad places nearby. There’s always a crowd of some kind, and there also seems to be a bit more of an industry presence around the Clover than at other Midtown spots. Drinks are OK, but not notable. You could do worse, but you could do better.
