Your Weekly Fix: Choo-Choo trains and Frenchies edition

    Games

    • As we do our final gearing up for the holidays, the releases slow down but the savings go up. Wal-Mart is dropping prices on a lot of the year’s biggest releases including Left 4 Dead 2, CoD: Modern Warfare 2, and Uncharted 2. GameStop is countering with their “Buy 2 used games, Get 1 free” sale, and now Toys ‘r’ Us is getting into it this week; make sure to take advantage of their “Buy 1, get 1 at 50%” sale. That’s on all games too, none of this “used” business.

    • That aside, this week we have The Sabotuer for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, a black, white and red Nazi-fighter set in France, also one of Pandemic Studios’ last works. The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks for the DS comes out Monday; Link gets a Train, Zelda’s a spirit….huh? If it’s anything like Phantom Hourglass though, it’s going to be good. And for the Wii, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, always a good scare – well not as of late, but this is showing a return to its PSOne roots, and (because it’s on the Wii) I’m not talking in terms of graphics.

    Comics
    • DC continues its “Blackest Night” tie-ins with four titles sporting the black label, but no rings this week. Getting us ready for it’s EA release next year, “Dante’s Inferno” gets a comic book adaptation, also from DC.

    • Marvel continues their version of Blackest Night with a Necrosha one-shot. Iron Man's brain is still dead, New Avengers gets an annual, Spidey gets pushed a little further down the Gauntlet, and my favorite cyborg/living dead keeps on truckin’ in Dethlok #2.

    • Elsewhere, “Army of Darkness” Ash saves Obama, Ghost Busters gets a time traveling one-shot, BPRD finishes its war against the frogs (and I’m not talking about the French), and we get to visit Tank Girl’s universe one more time.
