Aurora will have a goodie bag screening of some of the popular shorts from their 2009 Flickerlounge and the Extremely Shorts Film Festival. Some of the films to be shown include the slightly dark Frog Jesus, I Am the Blueberry (which is described as a "musical tale of fruit and fate"), and the paper puppetry short Sprout.

Friday Night Movie Nights at DOMY
I love the movies that are shown at Domy. On Fridays, Fartiste Theatre curates a selection of the strangest, yet incredibly awesome movies you could imagine. This time it's Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead. What's Poultrygeist, you ask? Imagine zombie chickens terrorizing a fast food drive-thru joint. And one of its stars is "The Hedgehog" himself - RON JEREMY (with his clothes on). So you know it's gotta be ... uh ... interesting. Plus you get a pre-show of Futurama, which has nothing at all to do with chickens or hedgehogs, it's just funny. All of this B-movie goodness is free, which is probably appropriate.

Special screening of Lethal Weapon at Alamo Drafthouse
"If these two can learn to stand each other... the bad guys don't stand a chance."
Ok, yeah that's kind of corny. But remember how you felt when Lethal Weapon first came out? Back before Mel Gibson committed his anti-semitic faux pas?
    Friday & Saturday, Sept. 11th & 12th, 7:30 p.m.
    Alamo Drafthouse - Mason
    $7.00

    Saturday, Sept. 12
Ann Arbor Film Festival selections presented by Aurora Picture Show
The Ann Arbor Film Festival showcases independent and experimental film across the U.S. Touring since June to bring the works of some of these film artists to as many folks as possible, the tour plans to make a pit stop here in Houston. If you're an open-minded person who likes unusual film projects, it might be worth your time.

    Sunday, Sept. 13
It Might Get Loud at the Angelika
It's not usually loud at the Angelika, but this time it might be. Documentary It Might Get Loud reveals how each of three electric guitar virtuosos – The Edge (U2), Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), and Jack White (The White Stripes) - came up with their unique sound.
