Beaver Nelson brings "Macro/Micro" back

I nattered on a few months ago about Beaver Nelson's excellent new album "Macro/Micro." He'll be back in town this Saturday to play the ambitious, big-idea-filled album in its entirety with its accompanying film.

The last time the Houston native/Buda resident was in town the album, his seventh, wasn't yet available, which made the A/V show a sneak peek. For five months now the album has been out as a point of reference for what the show will be like.

For those who haven't been following Nelson's literate rootsy power pop for years, "Macro/Micro" is a fetching -- and a little heady -- introduction.

I don't know how long he plans to keep touring "Macro/Micro" in this interactive format with guitar, voice, projector and lapton. So it may be worth making a point to catch this one before some of the album's songs break out and placed alongside older ones in a concert setting.
