Benefit show planned for Grandfather Child singer

    Grandfather ChildGrandfather Child

As it so happens, turning out awesome, soulful and psychedelic gospel-tinged jams isn't one of those vocations that comes with corporate-type benefits. So it is that Lucas Gorham -- singer, songwriter and lap steel guitar virtuoso -- for Grandfather Child needs an assist. Gorham recently had a pretty bad bicycle wreck that resulted in a broken clavicle that may require surgery.

Right now Gorham is unable to play. That's where a fundraiser concert comes in. Some of Gorham's bandmates and buddies will take to the stage at Fitzgerald's on Sunday to raise money to help put him on the mend. "With A Little Help From My Friends: A Charity Concert Benefitting Lucas Gorham of Grandfather Child" begins at 5 p.m. There is a $10 minimum donation. The event will also include a raffle and cheap Lone Stars. And the performers (thus far, more to be announced) . . .
