• There was plenty of coverage of a festival that I had no interest in attending (keep in mind, I'm still shuddering from my ACL experience), Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin: Here's Matt Sonzala "obsessing" about Melt Banana's set. The Japanese noise band will be in Houston tonight at Walter's with Homopolice and B L A C K I E. There was also considerable coverage by Austin360.com.

• Giant Battle Monster posted a catchy, noisy track, Man With a Gun For a Head, on IndieHouston.

• Looks to me that Elaine Greer, who has joined Austin's The Sour Notes, has relocated to Austin. But she's one of those people who seems to perpetually live in between the two cities anyway. Still: FU AUSTIN.
