From left: Dave Matthews Band
After taking a summer off the Dave Matthews Band will return to the road starting with a May 18 date at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros will open.
The show may offer the opportunity for fans to hear some new songs; the DMB has been working with producer Steve Lillywhite (U2, Pogues) on a new album. Lillywhite produced the first three DMB shows.
DMB Warehouse Fan Association members will get first crack at presale tickets starting at 9 a.m. (central) Feb. 16 here. General public tix go on sale March 9; more information here.
Get your tickets early. Lest you end up like this guy...
As for the Pavilion, it's 2012 lineup is slowly beginning to take shape. Here are shows booked thus far:
April 24: The Black Keys with Arctic Monkeys
May 5: Casting Crowns
June 21: Il Divo
July 11: Mayhem Festival with Slipknot, Slayer, Anthrax and more
July 14: Rascal Flatts
They still have concerts for the elites in the Woodlands? Sorry but as much as I like the Dave Matthews Band, I will not be going because Cynthia Woods is too far away, obviously not centrally located and outdoor concerts are something you can have in California where the weather is a hell of a lot nicer! Southeast Texas is not the place for outdoor concerts!
Had they booked House of Blues or Verizon Wireless both centrally located in downtown Houston and indoors I would have gone.
wow. you are retarded & obviously never been to a show at the pavillion. thanks for staying on your side of town meow.
what a whiner!
I guess I'm not hip enough to listen to "DMB."
hip to be square maybe?
hip to be square maybe?
You don't have to be hip to listen to the awful DMB, you just have to be an idiot.
HAHAHAHAHAA....yep...I'd rather go see Michael Bolton than whiney dave matthews
BORING!!!!
nothing better than some dmb. I'll be there!
Two years ago Dave Matthews was playing the 10,000 Lakes Music Festival. This was also the year that Widespread Panic and Wilco played. I will say that this is the first year where I got tickets at Ticketsinventory.com I requested, even the hard shows. A few of our friends left Saturday afternoon to avoid the DMB crowd, as they were there to primarily see WSP and Wilco. The crowds definitely did not mesh well.
