The small border town of Sierra Blanca has not been kind to traveling musicians.
Nelly's tour bus was busted Wednesday night in Sierra Blanca and officers found weed, heroin and a loaded gun TMZ reported.

According to TMZ , Nelly's bus was stopped at a border patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca and officers found 36 small baggies of heroin, over ten pounds of marijuana and a loaded .45 caliber pistol.
All seven occupants of the bus, Nelly and his entourage, were detained but just one was arrested according to a release from the Hudspeth County Sheriff's office
Willie Nelson , Snoop Dogg and most recently Fiona Apple have all been busted at the same checkpoint throughout the years.
When crossing a border, esp. one near Mexico, they should expect to be searched. It is their own stupidity.

they should expect to be searched.- It's actually an ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) checkpoint. Every time I've been through they only ask if I'm a U S citizen and then they send me on my way.
It is their own stupidity.- Sierra Blanca is in the state of Texas, about 20 miles from the border on Interstate Highway 10. There are a few ICE checkpoints along IH 10 in route to California.
You'd think these musicians would learn, but they must be dumber than dirt.

Didn't they tell us that the checkpoint was to catch illegal aliens? How handy that it also makes a good excuse to bust [black guys], if you know what I mean.
So now citizens give up their rights and get frisked just for driving down the road. I'm sure some people wish we had such controls at every county line. Somehow the idea of it makes my right arm fly up in the oddest salute.
Willie Nelson and Fiona Apple are white, and it is not just an ICE checkpoint. They check for EVERYTHING at those checkpoints. You should only speak of what you know, lest you appear to know nothing.
You're exactly right. Driving down the road should never, ever, ever be an excuse to get pulled over. But hey, who cares about the Constitution when we have illegals and terrorists to worry about.
