Previously announced performers include Toby Keith (Feb. 25), Demi Lovato/Austin Mahone (March 3), Jason Aldean (March 11) and Luke Bryan (March 16), all of whom were included on the app lineup.

George Strait, who hasn't played RodeoHouston since 2007, will close the 2013 season with a concert-only performance, his 21st, featuring openers the Randy Rogers Band and Martina McBride. The addition of that show makes RodeoHouston one day longer, running 21 days -- Feb. 25 through March 17.

Season tickets are on sale now and start at $336 per seat. Mini-season tickets, which include nine performances, include seating in the loge and upper levels of Reliant Stadium. Prices range from $146-$189 per ticket. These can only be purchased by calling the ticket office (832-667-1080), visiting the ticket windows on the second floor of Reliant Center or at rodeohouston.com.

Black Heritage Day (March 1) and Go Tejano Day (March 10) are not included in Mini-season ticket options.

Value Day Wednesdays will return, with upper-level tickets for $10. Individual tickets go on sale Jan. 12.

    Underwhelming.

    Yay! Awesome lineup!

You're kidding. Right? You're kidding. And I'm not talking about baby goats.

    vet2be Mon, 01/07/2013 - 1:27am

The members of Styx are still alive? I liked them in the 70's and 80's, but at some point, the rodeo needs to get more current performers.

    Margaret H Mon, 01/07/2013 - 2:33pm

    AMEN!

    lottesofmottes Mon, 01/07/2013 - 1:43am

The lineup gets worse every year.

So who is the "Black Heritage" artist Mary J (who has had several concerts CANCELED due to lack of sales and lackluster music offerings) or Bruno Mars (more Pop than anything else, but much more of a show).

    And Pitbull? GARBAGE..lol

    darrell Mon, 01/07/2013 - 12:38pm

so just because they are not country artist then they are considered garbage??? Mary J Blige is a major r&b singer and has sold out a many concerts and will for the rodeo. Her body of work is impressive and she puts on good shows. Bruno Mars will bring in teen and young adult crowds whereas Pitbull is more dance music than hip hop and he is international star and will probably sell-out too.

    lottesofmottes Tue, 01/08/2013 - 2:56pm

so just because they are not country artist then they are considered garbage??? - Didn't say that. I don't really listen to Country at all. Mostly R&B, Rap, Pop.

Mary J Blige is a major r&b singer and has sold out a many concerts and will for the rodeo. - Sure she has. Here in Dallas her show was canceled late last year due to lack of ticket sales. Work is impressive, puts on a great show and if you are 35+ I am sure she works for you like Sade or similar artists. I grew up on her music, and can't think of 1 thing she has put out recently which I can bear to listen to.

Bruno Mars - is the best option on the list for me.

Pitbill is Garbage - He can sell out all day. He is garbage, has no dimension as an artist and if I see one more suit with dark glasses I will stroke out.. He is a joke. I don't know anyone older than 15 that finds his music entertaining.

RIP Pimp C - Now UGK, that would have been a show!

    mik1of3 Thu, 01/10/2013 - 11:18am

Music is like beauty....it's all in the eyes of the beholder...one man's trash is another man's treasure.
Pimp C? TRASH TRASH TRASH. But to me, 99.9% of rap is CRAP. Talk about lack of dimension... RAP is the SHALLOWEST of genres out there. And I DO include MUZAK in that statement. Rap appeals to the BASEST of the animal condition. Reproduction, and hunting-whether it be women, money, drugs, material goods. No depth of soul at ALL. No joy. No happiness. No fun. Only negativity, misery, hate, violence and sex. Ugliness. Crap.
Bruno Mars? Cute...this generations Michael Bolton. I love him. Wouldn't pay to see him, as he's only come out with maybe 3 songs I like.
Pitbull...I LOVE Pitbull. My kidlet and I HATED missing his concert the last time he was in town...and so we are definitely going to the rodeo show. His music is fun, and the vibe is happy. Should be one big dance party....like Prince's concerts (of which I have been to EVERY SINGLE ONE since the Purple Rain tour in 1984), should be a BLAST.
If you don't like the way he looks, then DONT LOOK AT HIM. I feel the same way about Little Wayne, 50 Cent, and Flavor Flav. Thugs and idiots who think much more of themselves than anyone else.

Music is based on personal tastes...and noone has the same tastes when it comes to music. That's why the rodeo offers such a variety.

    HolySpearIt Mon, 01/07/2013 - 12:58pm

PitBull is the most exciting performer on the lineup.

    writter Mon, 01/07/2013 - 2:58am

Remember when the Rodeo used to feature good 'ol country music? Now they Have Allan Jackson & George Strait & one or two others to go along with people you've never heard of.

    Banjo The Dog Mon, 01/07/2013 - 7:38am

Yep, looks like I will be popping a Tommy Alverson CD in my truck radio and driving to Fort Worth for a real rodeo.....

    Anonymous Photog Mon, 01/07/2013 - 9:25am

Can the lineup get any more vanilla and underwhelming? SxSW is starting to turn people off because it's overly crowded and the Rodeo has a chance to transform itself from a middle aged suburban demographic to something more cutting edge but they don't do it.

    Pete555 Mon, 01/07/2013 - 9:29am

hard to believe people listen to music this bad... "when all they got is bread & water to eat, it tastes like steak after awhile."

    Amesquita Mon, 01/07/2013 - 10:57am

AWESOME lineup, why can't San Antonio have one like that?

    Steven St Croix Mon, 01/07/2013 - 11:09am

just brutal! gets more and more terrible every year.

    msimpson Mon, 01/07/2013 - 11:15am

What, no Kayne and the Khardashians? Maybe they could turn the Rodeo into some reality TV American Idol type circus? That would generate more interest. And no long concerts - just one song for each performer because the audience will be too busy texting and emailing photos to pay attention for any longer than one song. And they could have spin-offs like "Housewives of the Houston Rodeo" and "Jersey Shore at the Houston Rodeo"? The way they fatten those Jersey's one of them might win Grand Champion.

    Concert Goer Mon, 01/07/2013 - 11:21am

You know, every year, I go to the rodeo to watch some rough stock events and catch a good concert. In the process, I spend about $100 on funnel cakes and beer.

It's very thoughtful of HLSR's concert committee to present such a lack luster concert line up to help keep me away from the funnel cakes and $12 beer.

    ShagCarpetGnat Mon, 01/07/2013 - 11:30am

woah, Toby Keith! who listens to that crap?

    Margaret H Mon, 01/07/2013 - 2:35pm

    I KNOW!

    rae Mon, 01/07/2013 - 12:22pm

Too bad! Always look forward to rodeo...not this year. What happened to quality performers.....??

    Hello_Clarice Mon, 01/07/2013 - 12:28pm

This is great! Maybe the freaking traffic won't be so insufferably bad around the rodeo this year.

    lsdett Mon, 01/07/2013 - 12:55pm

yeah, why not some Danny Barnes?

    Gil Velasquez Mon, 01/07/2013 - 12:59pm

This has to be the worst line up that I have ever seen, bar none. They have progressively set the bar lower and lower for every rodeo and in my opinion could use an "indie" line up of Texas country music for a few nights and if they want to go "pop" they can do better than Demi Lovato (someone fire up the AutoTune Machine). Some props for Bruno Mars, that is a wee bit on the pop-thoughtful side, but they need to review who is reviewing the music. If you can't get better names for the HLSR event, then you need to put some fresh thought and perspective on the selection committee.

    LacyJ Tue, 01/15/2013 - 6:44pm

I would love to see more Texas country music in the line up. Jake Kellen, for one, is up and coming, along with many others around the state!! Even if they just had two or three of them on one or two nights, that would be great. We know we have great musicians in Texas, let's give them a chance. Even if they thought they were putting their profits out on a limb, let Value Wednesday's become Texas Value Wednesday's and bring in Texas artists on Wednesday nights. You already know people will come out just for the low price of admission.

I was a bit disappointed in the lineup this year myself. Personally, I go to watch the rodeo and the concerts are a bonus. But I try to pick nights when I know I will enjoy the music. Thankfully my music tastes go all over the board, so I would enjoy Bruno Mars, Styx, Pitbull, George Strait, most of them appearing, but there are some that I am just shaking my head about...

    JoeK Mon, 01/07/2013 - 1:05pm

I don't know who's got more old, outdatted country folks trying to book these line-ups...the Super Bowl halftime committee or the Houston Rodeo people. Either way, they're both a garbage dumpster junk.

    hecto Mon, 01/07/2013 - 1:29pm

    We'll put a boot in Toby Keith's A$$, that's the American way!

    hecto Mon, 01/07/2013 - 1:30pm

What about Fat Pat Green? He is mediocre enough.

    Rosie Mon, 01/07/2013 - 1:57pm

I don't understand why this Anglo people can't spend more money bringing a good Texano Artist. No body cares about Los Invasores or the other unknown artist.!!

    grbobf Mon, 01/07/2013 - 2:25pm

The HOUSTON LIVESTOCK SHOW & RODEO (HLSR) doesn't exist simply to ENTERTAIN Houston townies (cityslickers) - but they do try to have a broad array of rodeo concerts to ATTRACT NUMBERS of "city folks" (urbanites & suburbanites) and EXTRACT MONEY FROM THEIR WALLETS! How many folks ACTUALLY attend any livestock show competitions and really follow the rodeo competitions? Not too many, thus the Rodeo Concerts (and the CARNIVAL) are the only way HLSR can hope to get the "cityslickers" to pay any attention to the HLSR!

    Domino2 Mon, 01/07/2013 - 9:42pm

Look , I am THRILLED they are bringing in Bruno Mars! Super talented! I NEVER watch the rodeo, too cruel for the animals.. (Calves with broken legs, bulls and horses with bucking(PINCH) straps... I will be HAPPY to SHOP and see Bruno for $20!
    QUIT BITCHIN!!! ;O
