    The Houston International Festival has announced its main stage lineup for 2012, reports Culturemap. Reggae greats Steel Pulse, Texas blues rockers Los Lonely Boys, classic rock/funk ensemble War and funky and jazzy New Orleans band Galactic will be headliners at the festival, which runs April 21-22 and April 28-29. Other World Stage performers include the swampy blues band JJ Grey and MOFRO, African reggae group Tidal Waves and Venezuela's funky Latin dance band Los Amigos Invisibles.

    Of particular interest on the main stage will be Seun Kuti who will perform with Egypt 80, the band led by his late father Afro-Beat legend Fela Kuti, and Bombino, a mesmerizing guitarist from Niger who released Agadez, a stand out album last year.

    Some performers on the smaller stages, per pollstar.com, include blues great Joe Louis Walker, and Texas talent like Ruthie Foster, the Hadden Sayers Band, Del Castillo and Sol Driven Train.

    The focus country at this year's iFest will be Argentina. More information available at ifest.org

    Nope - the lead singer of Steel Pulse is David Hinds - all the way from JA via Birmingham, England. The best band in the world!

    Galactic isn't ilsted in the online ifest schedule, nor are there any ifest dates listed on the band's website.

    No..lead singer is David Hinds from Birmingham, England. They are living legends with fantastic music!

    iFest featuring Argentina this year, so we can expect the usual Shao Lin demonstrations and Ballet Folklorico. Yay!

    I would rather see SOJA than Steel Pulse any day. I have seen both bands at least 10 times, and SOJA wins hands down. SOJA will also be at this years IFest. If you want great reggae tunes, see SOJA.
