SXSW announces first wave of acts

    SXSW, the long-running music festival, has announced its first batch of performers for the 2013 edition, which takes place March 12-17 in Austin.

    Some of the bigger names tabbed to perform are Houston-born rapper Lecrae, Klaxons, Gallows, the Zombies, Alt-J,Of Mice & Men and Hawthorne Heights. Two Houston acts will be making the trip to Austin as well, as Young Von and the Linus Pauling Quartet were announced.

    A full list of the performers announced today is available.

    Tickets are not on sale yet, but Houston bands still have time to apply to play the fest. The application deadline to perform has been extended to Nov.9.

    Way to go, Driver Friendly! Home base is Austin, but they got their start many years ago in The Woodlands. They put on great shows!

    Who cares where they come from, as long as they play good music.....I'll skip the rap shows!!!!
