Time to look back on what Houston did this weekend, musically speaking. I do not care that Houston did its laundry.
Photo by Bill Olive: Ximena Sariñana performs at House of Blues last Friday.
I saw Spinal Tap (review here). And it pretty much ruled and you should be sorry you missed it.
Here's another take on the show from the ClownVision Chronicles.
The Press' Craig Hlavaty went to a place I have not gone in over a decade: A Dave Matthews Band concert.
And here's a fan report, who says DMB "kicked some serious ass."
Joey Guerra took in Ximena Sariñana and Fleetwood Mac.
Gwendolyn Zepeda also went to Fleetwood Mac and it stirred up memories.
Here's a Flickr set by mrchriscornwell from the Joan Jett show at the Showgrounds on Saturday. Another set by Charlie White covers a show at Javajazz with Before There Was Rosalyn.
I'm surprised that I can't find any reports of Jandek at Diverseworks. Is his playing out too often a turn-off now, I wonder?
Oh, weird: George Clinton endorsed Peter Brown for Houston mayor at his concert last week.
Not so much in the going-out vein, but very useful to the going-out community: Space City Rock puts its very useful show calendar in Google Cal, iCal and RSS format. I say yes to this.
Why would you assume that anyone did laundry?
Fair enough. I didn't do laundry, I suppose it's possible that no one in Houston did laundry, either.
Let us assume everyone was making love or else expecting rain.
How lovely.
