So when is Stimpy Fest?
I'd go to that for sure.
You used to be able to take the family for a great afternoon. Not anymore! It's more like going to a strip club. No thanks!
So do you not take your children to the beach or the public pool as well for fear of seeing some skin?
God forbid something not be family-friendly. Some of us get tired of stepping over your kids. I'd rather see half naked pirate wenches than strollers and binkies any day.
You've been going to some pretty horrible strip clubs if you think they are even remotely the same.
You were never able to take the family for a great afternoon anywhere. Those things are mutually exclusive, unless both you and your family are cool, and in that case, you could still come and have a great afternoon.
Why do they continue to call it "Renaissance Festival"? That's just too funny. Change the name to "Lame Fantasy Dress-Up Festival" right?
Thanks for the mammories.
I won't be going and especially not taking my kids.
They always have the best outfits. Debi is just gorgous and Alaric is manly as always. A true show of what you might have seen during that era. And these fine folk are far lovelier on the inside then they are on the out. I love my beautiful friends and cannot wait to see you again. Huzzah and Blessed Be!
Really doubt that silicone existed then. So much for being authentic.
Those are my adopted faire parents!!! <3 <3 <3
Traffic sucks and its a huge tourist trap. I'd rather go to Galveston frankly, and that's not saying allot.
Hot? More like a hot mess.
It's sad to hear such disparagement when some if the truest, kindest, and most caring people I have ever met are at faire. I myself have witnessed many parents bring their kids up to take pictures with Alaric. He is one of the nicest people it has ever been my experience to know! As far as family friendly is concerned, a lot of these ren faire people are like a second family to me and are wonderful decent people who just want to escape to a fantasy realm for a few weekends a year. If you are concerned about your children, there are lots worse things they will be exposed to then a Renaissance Festival I assure you. Bigotry and short sighted judgement of others are chief among those. I am proud to call Alaric and Debi friends as well as many other wonderful people at Texas Renaissance Festival and other venues!

inflatables?
I am thinking that perhaps if someone didn't know that there was flesh and festivity at this event, then they were probably new to the area, or at least to the event.
You must have confused your interesting-o-meter with your hot-o-meter. There may have been a few (a small minority) hot people, but most are just interesting. There is nothing wrong with interesting. Seeing the interesting people is one of the draws of going. As a matter of fact, I'd rather see the hot people at the beach and the interesting people at the festivals.
