By,by, Matt Schaub! It's time for you to move on..

THELAFFR Tue, 01/15/2013 - 9:50am

AGREED! @ PFUNK!!!! I really didn't care much for him before his injury. But when he got back I thought "I'll give him a try"...again, my instincts are correct. Buh...BYE!!!!

How are you going to wave goodbye to his 4-year/$62-million contract extension he inked before the season even started?

Not Surprised Tue, 01/15/2013 - 9:13am

Yup, no surprise to me, lived here all my life. Houston football teams are known for EPIC CHOKES. Oilers vs. Bills - anyone remember that? Well, add the 2012 Texans season to the list. If they ever get some consistency, I might actually spend money to watch them or buy some Texans merchandise, otherwise, I would just assume spending it on something worthwhile.

From Boston- you guys played a great game! See ya next year and lets go Pats!!!

Bob'DontCare'McNair Tue, 01/15/2013 - 1:12pm

KUBIAK is the one who needs to go!

Red_Goes Tue, 01/15/2013 - 1:21pm

Time for Schaub and Kubiak to go. McNair has to sign some of the free agents. He can't let as many walk as he did last year. If he's going to be charging as much as he is to attend Texans games, et. al., he needs to back it up with the best talent...which we clearly didn't have this season.

timdayton Tue, 01/15/2013 - 1:38pm

I think it is time to THROW BACK KUBIAK and have him take schaub with him.

Govchance Tue, 01/15/2013 - 1:58pm

Congrats to the Texans on a good, winning season. Too bad it ended way too soon. Hopefully there will be some changes at a couple of key positions that will allow the team to do even better next year.
Also, hopefully a little more thought will go into the signing of our own free agents this year as compared to last year. There are a number of low or non producers at the receiver position, opposite AJ that can be cut in order to keep some of our key free agents.

OSUFAN Tue, 01/15/2013 - 2:22pm

The Texans need Mac Brown. At least we will get to see him cry when they lose!

BJack Tue, 01/15/2013 - 2:26pm

Maybe David Carr can come back, remember him...hmmm, how about we get all our players healthy and stop being fare weather fans. Then again, I'm a Steelers fan and we always suport our team, win or lose, wheres the beer! Oh, and don't forget the 6 SIX Super Bowl Rings! The Texans are a good team, their fans suck!

talexa Tue, 01/15/2013 - 4:59pm

...and clearly, Steelers fans are very classy.

Real Fan Tue, 01/15/2013 - 3:44pm

Houston has some of the worst fans ever. A lot of negative comments and yet they make it to the playoffs again. Go ahead and get rid of Schaub, maybe you can draft/find a quarterback that can play both sides of the ball. Even better lets fire the coach that has gotten us to the playoffs 2 years in a row.

PINKY Tue, 01/15/2013 - 4:48pm

SERIOUSLY......KUBIAK WILL NEVER BE THE COACH OF A SUPERBOWL TEAM. BUT, WE ARE STUCK WITH HIM. AS FOR SCHAUB, QUIT TRYING TO MAKE HIM WHAT HE IS NOT....A CONTENDER IN ANY PLAYOFFS. IF THIS TEAM IS GOING TO WIN DESPITE THE COACHING, YOU NEED A LEAGUE LEADING, REAL LEADER OF THIS TEAM. GO AHEAD, LIST THE QUARTERBACKS FOR THE LAST 3 SEASONS THAT YOU WOULD RATHER HAVE THAN SCHAUB. YOU WILL SEE THAT YOU'D EVEN TAKE A COUPLE OR MORE OF ROOKIES THAN SCHAUB. MAKE THE CHANGE OR GET READY FOR ANOTHE DISAPPOINTMENT NEXT YEAR.

wahrheit Tue, 01/15/2013 - 8:14pm

Schaub threw for 443 yards! What the heck is wrong with you people? You have a potentially great QB IF he gets an offensive line and four receivers and two running backs like Brady has with the Pats. If you let him go, and Kubiak, they will both someday will resurface with Superbowl rings. Guaranteed. I can't wait to see y'all with mud on your bbq-sauced faces! Best wishes from a long-suffering Lions fan.

Pfunk Wed, 01/16/2013 - 3:05am

Yeah, it was very hard for Schaub to run and extend a play with that big sack of new money he was carrying on his back!

judgesnappingbush Wed, 01/16/2013 - 2:00pm

Lets pray for another easy schedule and that they improve next year.

PINKY Wed, 01/16/2013 - 7:47pm

I am not talking about 1 season of Schaub and Kubiak. Please list the QBs that you would rather have than Schaub over the last several years. That's probably not fair considering Schaub has spent more of his career hurt relative to any of the other league leading quarterbacks. That really didn't impact the Texans considering last year's progress without him. Schaub has underperformed in one key area--winning when it really counts. How about that super double overtime win against Jacksonville. Are you kidding. Schaub is not mobile, has no arm, and this season has problems with accuracy. Do you think he compares to the rookies and other experienced pros that not only lead in athleticism but get their teams motivated(despite of Kubiak) How smart does the opposition have to be to know what Kubiak will do offensively. Should have gotten rid of Schaub last year. Again, you think our issue is depth in the defense? I will say, our defensive secondary may be the slowest in the NFL but by golly, they really play with heart for being so short. If there are not some major changes, next year we may make it to the playoffs but only if Indianapolis or Tennessee give it to us. We will not get past the first playoff game. I'm probably sitting next season out unless something really changes. Let someone else pay the premium prices for home games that have no advantage for the home team.
