Who is Houston's Cake Boss? H-E-B cake decorating competition will tell

Let them eat cake! Celebrity judges including H-E-B president Scott McClelland and “Top Chef Just Desserts” contestant Rebecca Masson will be deep into the frosting on Sunday, Sept. 16, at the third annual H-E-B Houston Region Cake-Off at H-E-B Pearland 63 Plus Store, 2805 Business Center Drive, Pearland.

The event is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The cake-decorating competition, comprised of more than 20 teams of H-E-B employees from Greater Houston H-E-B stores, will determine the best cake decorating skills in the area with the winner taking $500 in store gift cards and the title of “H-E-B Cake Boss.” The public is invited to watch the teams compete.

Each tem will have three hours to decorate and display their creations; after the competition the cakes will be sold in a silent auction with proceeds going to the Adult Reading Center.

For foodies, it’s a chance to see cake decorating skills and meet Houston pastry chef Masson, owner of Fluff Bake Bar [1], who Houston’s My Table magazine named Best Pastry Chef.
