The grilled beef dishes, vivid salsas and stand-up margaritas make this colorful restaurant one of the best Mexican spots around.

Alison Cook says: The grilled beef dishes, vivid salsas and stand-up margaritas make this colorful, contemporary restaurant in Cypress one of the best Mexican spots around. Smoky, lime-touched fajitas, tacos al carbon and carne asada are swell, as are the tenderloin tips with bacon and avocado relish. Be sure to order a decadent mushroom enchilada on the side. Sides can vary, as can salt levels.

The Spring location at 2920 and Kuykendahl was marginal. Went once which was enough. Not horrible but bland and boring.

Only tried the Cypress location. The best beef fajitas I have had anywhere, hands down. The mushroom enchiladas are also outstanding. I can't believe some of these others beat it. Spanish Village and many others ranked higher but don't hold a candle to Alicia's.

What about the one on Richmond, is that one any good? I have yet to try it....it's just down the street from me and we need a good mexican restaurant over here. Benny's is great but a little too pricey.

Bindi - I posted below about the one off Richmond. I live in that apartment complex right across the street.

It's infinitely better than Benny's. However, no ceviche. I still have to go to Benny's for that.
But definitely check it out. The service is impeccable - very nice waitstaff.

Oh and...that big ole bowl of fajita toppings in the picture? It's real, it's huge...and it's awesome. First time I haven't run out of fajita goodies before! And no stupid extra charge for sour cream (I'M LOOKING AT YOU, CYCLONE ANAYA'S)

Just opened a new location in Westchase (Richmond @ Kirkwood) and it's great. I have been 5 times already (yikes...it's within walking distance of my place...I'm in TROUBLE), and have not been disappointed yet. I do wish they offered tamales in varieties other than just chicken...pork would be fabulous!!
I do prefer Pappasitos fajitas over Alicia's, but Alicia's does a better tortilla. Win some, lose some.
Try it out!!

Alicia's is great if you like spending 2 hours waiting for a table in a room at basically nightclub level volume. With few restaurants in Cypress Alicia's knows it has a captive market. Expect service and quality requisite of a captive market.

FOOD SUCKS . FAJITAS WERE TERRIBLE, CARNITAS DIDNT TASTE LIKE PORK OR MEAT FOR THAT MATTER, I DONT RECOMMEND IT.

I agree....not worth it. Don't know what all the hype is about. I guess it's just the location. I'd break for the border (taco bell) in this case.

The best Tex-Mex in Cypress, hands down! Try the top shelf Margarita, Queso Flameado (con chorizo) for an appetizer and the mixed fajitas for dinner. You won't be disappointed (or hungry) afterwards.
