Counter-service with a bit of self-service thrown in, Michael Cordua's highly casual restaurant isn't a place to enjoy a meal so much as stuff your face full of puffy tacos and get back to running errands. The room is attractive, but cavernous, which helps create the tornado-grade noise that comes with a busy night. Though you can order something called Chinita, an Asian-inspired noodle dish, the menu is mostly Latin in concept. Margaritas are weak and kids are everywhere. Everywhere.
Vibe: A family-friendly joint where you can walk in with a stain on your shirt and leave with two more and no one will be scandalized.

Michael Cordua - What have you done to my Amazon???? I have been eating there since it was located off Post Oak in the Galleria area. It has been consistent, reliable, and fun food. I like the addition of the comfy furnishings from Americas. What I don't like are the menu tweaks. The lovely cilantro rice is now gloppy and gluey in texture as though it is trying to be a risotto. And to add insult to injury - it has a miniscoop of black beans piled atop it. Why? I don't want black beans atop my cilantro rice?? They were better on the side. Maybe I wanted to enjoy a bite of the still wonderful vegetables escabeche with the rice. The maduros portion is now reduced from about 4 slices to 2. Sigh. Was hoping that he would re-open a westside Amazon location again - but now I am not so sure. I am sad.

This place was just ok in my opinion. Tacos didn't have enough meat in them but they were tasty. I would go back but I'm not in a hurry.

You need to go and check out the Amazon Grill in Houston Texas on Kirby Dr.

Robert the Manager and his Team is outstanding!!

If you haven't experienced the Amazon Grill then you need to stop what you're doing and head on over. The food is out of this world, and you'll love the prices!! You must try for desert the tres leches, or the smores. The service is first-rate, and fast.
