Venerable downtown Italian restaurant caters to office workers seeking leisurely lunch and pre- and post-theater crowds. The food is OK, the service is OK, the setting is OK. OK?

Pollo Poretti, my favorite. Used to go to the River Oaks location that was on W. Gray, on Monday nights the Robbie Renfroe big band would perform. Good times. Also used to visit the Greenspoint location before urban blight killed the area completely. Can't rememebr ever having a bad meal there.
fond emories of the greens rd location in erly 80's. They had a multi course special for lunch on Saturdays that was a deal. Shame what happened to area, but many examples around Houston of this happenning once bus comes to an area and apts begin to age.
It's a pity that the prime location is wasted on mediocre food and terrible service. Other reviews around the web are a testimony to how common that experience is. I wouldn't bother unless you have no other choice.
The manager Johnathan is a very cool guy! Hosted many of our parties and was very thankful. The food was also very good.
