Alison Cook says: The signature dish is a butterflied grilled tenderloin basted in a garlicky chimichurri sauce. It's a local dining monument. The fine seafood, South American wines and accommodating service are other attractions at the restaurants that launched the Cordua mini-empire.
From the outside it didnt look all that nice. We walked up, thinking we were overdressed. But we walked in and were instantly amazed by the decor. Complimentary valet was a big plus. It's gorgeous and definitly one of my new favorite restaurants.
The service was awesome and very attentive. The food came out fast and everything we ordered was great. It surprised me because the guy I was with absolutly cleaned his plate and he's a very picky eater. The plantanes on the tables were some of the best I've had. Also, when they brought out our food, we had no idea that you get a big plate of side dishes to share. Things like grilled plantanes and potatoes were super yummy.
I've been to another restaurant owned by that company - Cordua, and this was even better than the last one. It was different and very nice for special occasions. Since we're both teenagers, price was a concern but it ended up being fine. For both of use to eat (plantanes, steak, chicken and a dessert) was less than $50, it would be great for a Texas Luau that needs a Caterer.
All in all, it was a great restaurant for special occasions or just for a night on the town.
Dined at the River Oaks location many years ago, outstanding. One of Houston's best places for a steak even if not well known for it.
