Veggie enchiladas Syd Kearney : 29-95
7 locations, including Webster, Humble, Highway 290, Shenandoah, River Oaks, Westchase and Katy
Don't worry if the place is packed, the quirky and quick-witted staff of Chuy's could teach FEMA a thing or two about the care and feeding of crowds. The menu is packed with Tex-Mex favorites, and, thanks to its Austin roots, there's plenty of options for non-carnivores. A bonus: No matter how many times you go, there's still something new to see thanks to its kitschy decor.
Vibe: Contageously fun.
Happy Hour Specials: Monday-Friday: 4-7 p.m.
CHUYS AND FREEBIRDS ARE MORE INTO BUILDING LOCATIONS FAST THEN THE QUALITY OF THERE FOOD.BOTH ARE GAG, STICK WITH SITOS AND CHIPOTLE
Horrible food, bad service.
Love their chile rellenos
The Chuy's on Westheimer, inside the loop has a horrible knat infestation and they seem to be content to leave it that way. Yuck!
Chuys rocks-- my favorite food on earth. Not kidding
My 11-year-old daughter was in a play yesterday and afterward we told her she could pick where we went to dinner. I cringed when she said Chuy's. That's the third third she's taken us there since she went there with a friend's family a few months ago. In my view, all three times the service has been bad and the food has been worse. I always feel like I'm coated with grease when I leave that place. There are SO much better places to go!
Then don't let your 11 year old daughter determine where you are going, unless she's got a better idea about where to eat than you do.
Chuy's is one of the better Tex-Mex chains around. Margaritas are good, fajitas are good, chile rellenos are good. The previous poster who talked about the creamy jalapeno dip is spot on, it's awesome. You do have to ask for it by name, they don't bring it to you automatically. The regular salsa is nice too, fresh raw tomatoes, onions, with just a little heat. The chips are always hot, fresh, light and crispy. The chicken taquito special for $7 is a bargain; five taquitos that are quite tasty, with rice and beans. Guac is good, has avacado chunks which I like. CCQ is real cheese, none of the fake junk. Wait staff are typically young college kids; they're cheerful, pleasant, with occasional brain cramps.
Crap on a plate is being generous.
Disgusting food, low quality drinks. No wonder Austinites like it. Vomit.
This place is not good. It has the be the worst excuse for Tex Tex..notice i didn't say mex...cuz there isn't any!..gross!
The absolute best Tex-Mex I've ever had! I love the delux chicken enchilada and the margaritas are really good... you get way more than your money's worth here
Horrible food.
Being from Houston originally but having lived in the Austin area for over 20 years, Chuy's is awesome. Their creamy jalapeno dip is wonderful with your chips. Chicka-chicka boom-boom is my all time favorite. Chicken enchiladas with boom-boom sauce, which is a combo of green chili and queso. Spicy and yummy!
Worst TexMex in town.
