authentic? It's Tex Mex which is anything but authentic mexican food. None of these dishes would be recognizeable in Mexico so lay off the most authentic Mexican places to eat. If your saying how good the queso, chips, cheese enchiladas, chilie con carne is then that is not authentic mexican it is Tex Mex which is completely different from Mexican Food. You want Authentic go to Hugo's. I would say this place and Casa Ole boast the same menu and quality. It's cool if you like Tex Mex just call it that don't call it authentic mexican food, it is kind of offensive to people from Mexico.

That's funny some idiot says he's never set foot in there and wants to review the restaurant. Winner of Marvin Zindler award for cleanness for three years. Once they were recognized they kept winning it till he passed away. i can agree the outside isn't attractive but it's the inside that counts. The food is beyond good and a great get away from the consistent sameness you get at places like casa ole or other big chains.

I also know for a fact that they make everything because I had a friend who would work there and he told me the owners are always cooking in the back. He said they would make it all nothing out of a can all fresh vegetables. People shouldn't be posting just to post find out the facts ...

This is my favorite place to eat and my friends too.

This is not microwave mexican food as one review stated. Everything here is fresh. They make their own corn tortillas. Yes it is classic original tex mex from the 60's and the old Monterrey House mexican food, that is what I love about it. The food is simple, fresh and unpretentious. The "real" cheese enchiladas, light fluffy rice, "never frozen avacado" guacamole, crispy light virtually greaseless chips and chile con queso are to die for. We have driven miles to eat here for years. One thing I hate about trying new mexican restaurants is you can almost always be certain they will be serving up those oily processed cheese enchiladas (Gross)...not at this place, nice stringy cheddar cheese that snaps back atcha!!!! Sure, Don Teo has the charm of a shoe box, but it is fabulous!!!!

Don Teo's has the best guacamole in town IMHO. The chips are fresh, the beer is cold, and the food is served hot. My friends and I have closed down Don Teo's many times and David, Junior, Sylvia, and Maricella know all our kids too...My favorite dish is the fajitas con queso - muy delicioso!!!

You have got to be kidding....I have lived in this neigborhood (near Don Teo's) since 1987 and would not set foot in the place...it is disgusting...who makes up these lists? This is not a restaurant you want to try.....

Have you been there???? The food is fantastic!!! Best enchiladas, guacamole, queso, chips, rice and beans ever. Sure it has the charm of a shoe box, but it is clean and the food is great!!!!

Do you like flys with your food? Then this is the place to go!
This is frozen food put in an industrial microwave and passed off and "authentic" This food was authentic back in the 60's when it was Monterrey House. Things have changed in the past 40 years, oh, except Don Teo's.

I've been to Don Teo's thousands of times and I've never found anything wrong with their food. :) I know the people who work there and run the restaurant and they are amazing people. I highly doubt the food is put in "an industrial microwave". There's a saying, "If something isn't broken don't try to fix it".

this is the worse place i have ever eaten.

You've got to be kidding. We travel from Hobby area to eat at Don Teo's. It is the most authenic Mexican place to eat. You must like places like Casa Ole'.
