Owner/chef Anita Jaisinghani's contemporary Indian cuisine is as pretty as the dining room it is served in. Polished service. Prices that reflect perfection.
Alison Cook says: Chef-owner Anita Jaisinghani's new incarnation of her contemporary Indian spot glows with a tropical color palette. The antique fittings are as yummy as the provocative first courses. Try goat-stuffed samosas with black-garbanzo salad, ribboned in tamarind, mint and yogurt; or an uttapam "pancake'' topped with spicy squid. Entree? Snowy halibut in tomatoey sauce shot through with fenugreek, plus mustard-seed mashed potatoes and pan-seared okra. The wine list has lost some snap, but the gingered Anarkali cocktail is heaven.
