Iron Chef-whopping Kent Rathbun of Dallas brings his "gourmet backyard cuisine" to The Woodlands and all we can say is, "Wow."
Jasper's dining room is modern and the service formal, but where Rathbun wins us over is the crafted-for-hearty-appetities menu. It is filled with comforting foods such baby back ribs, grilled flat iron steak, bourbon-spiked creamed corn and mac-and-gouda.
The prices are steep. But it is The Woodlands (and Rathbun did mop the floor with celebrity Iron Chef Bobby Flay). Consider a visit at lunch, when they welcome you even in shorts (don't even think about it at night) and fare is a little less pricy.
Vibe: Country clubby.
My wife surprised me with dinner for five on my birthday.
The food (as always) was out of this world.
The service was outstanding and above all was the attention to every detail that Sean Jones (Gral. Manager)delivered for the ocassion.
I am proud to say that I was the first customer they had when they opened the doors a few years back, and every time I went there the food and the service were excellent.
I would recommend this restaurant for any ocassion.
The "payment types" shown as "cash only" in this review is incorrect. Jasper's does accept credit cards. I called them on February 8, 2010 to verify. This is a great restaurant...the baby back ribs and warm potato salad are SCRUMPTIOUS!!
