Chef Manabu Horiuchi -- known as Hori-san to the legion of foodies who pack the sushi bar at this River Oaks restaurant -- has a gift with fish. And what is served here is among the carefully sourced protein in town.

The Imperial Martini was a great way to start (I also tried Asahi Black, to go with my sushi - very cool, I hadn't seen it before). Nice miso (especially on a cold night!). I opted for the King Crab Roll and the Spicy Tuna Roll. Both were delicious. My husband had the Chirashi, and he liked it a lot. Everything was super fresh. Dessert was a nice surprise. Donuts! One was filled with red bean, and the other had some type of popcorn-type kernels on it. Amazing. Served with a little chocolate ice cream, and freeze-dried raspberries - so fun to eat. It was a good choice!

We had great service... fantastic robata and sushi... The Sexy Scallop Roll will give you a new outlook on life... careful, highly addictive.

Uni and King Crab spoons and Tropical Spicy Tuna roll are still floating around in my head. I still remember its delightful taste in my mouth like it was yesterday (because it was). We also ordered the yellow tail, tuna and salmon sashimi with dipping sauce. I fell in love with the soy sesame sauce. The homemade strawberry cheesecake was a great end to a very nice Sunday happy hour lunch. That's right! Sunday Happy Hour from 1 to 5pm. It's on the pricier end for sushi and the service is quite slow.
