One of the more relaxed cafes in Montrose, Kraftsmen Baking has less of a snob factor than Brasil, fewer girlie-girls twiddling their hair in line while poring over the menu than at Empire, and manages to put out some amazing food to boot. Sit down to some free WiFi and dig into one of many lovingly prepared sandwiches (the veggie is great, as is the smoked salmon, the chicken salad, and anything with melted cheese), a huge bowl of beautiful soup, or perhaps just a cup of coffee and a croissant. When the limited dining area fills up, there are plenty of spaces to sit outside, which offers pleasant views of one of the prettier stretches of Montrose Boulevard.
