House Of Pies. Because it's not some trendy elitist hangout, and because their coffee is good for a hash house. Best slice of pie in H-town, if not anywhere.
you've lost your mind. To even mention House of Pies coffee in the same sentence as places like Catalina is insane. Hey which do you like better? A Porsche 911 or a Chevrolet Cobalt?
Uhh, paying twice the price for a cup o' joe doesn't necessarily make it better. I appreciate the gourmet coffees but personally I get more gratification by going to HOP for a slice of pie and cup of black than waiting in line with people who are looking down their noses at me.
Catalina is prob the best in Houston.
Inversion, Brasil, Taft are also very good - partly because all are so extremely close to home and have a real Montrose vibe (the one Austin attempts, but #Epicfail).
Guadalupana's cinnamon coffee definitely deserves mention also!
Any coffee lovers should make a stop at Greenway Plaza and grab a cappucino from Tuscany Coffee (now called Greenway Coffee). Absolutely the best artisan coffee in Houston.
My new favorite place for coffee is The Egg and I in Meyerland. Love their house coffee:) They also have a five cheese omelette that's to die for!!!!!!
Coffe Groundz, Best coffee and service in town. Great place to meet.

Have to agree with your post here. HOP is a H-town original!!

Pearland Coffee Roasters - great espresso.
Agora - awesome coffee...not enough seats.
Starbucks - river oaks non drive thru. The baristas actually care.

Pearland Coffee Roasters, a great place to hang out too,
Tuscany coffee hands down- it is a pain to get to if you do not work in Greenway- but worth it.

Bizarre that a Pearland coffee shop appears on a list of Houston coffee shops. Someone screwed up...
Um...Ben and Jerry's has amazing coffee drinks. *hangs head*

Glad to see someone mentioned The Egg. The one on Tomball Parkway is also a good (very) coffee stop.
MGM Grand Las Vegas coffee ever!!!!
Bungalow
The best coffee? The one that goes down my gullet (sp?) the morning after too much sippy sippy.
Greenway Coffee is easily the best coffee
2nd place is Double Trouble
3rd place is Catalina
