5 locations, including The Shops at Houston Center , Stafford, Memorial, Chase Tower (tunnel) and Katy
Largely due to the glowing endorcement of the first President Bush, Otto's barbecue looms large in Houston's culinary history. However, we feel that Otto's legacy should be its hamburgers. They have a nice, old-fashioned feel in appearance and taste.
Vibe: Working class -- even if everyone is in tie.
Thought they shut down Memorial several years ago! need to update your site, I also understand the other locations are franchised, is this correct?
I go to the downtown location a few times a month. If you look around almost every lady has either a sandwich (hamburger) or a salad. Their salads rock! I like their Greek version and it comes with warm chicken with no extra charge!
I live in a state where the BBQ is smoked pulled pork and it's very good. After trying Otto's beef brisket with trimmings I say my outlook on BBQ has changed...absolutely amazing...Where I am, they have no clue on how to do brisket. I love Texas and the food alone is worth a trip!
Come back any time, Wayne!
Went to the Stafford location first time, not impressed. Wasn't bad but not great, and seemed overpriced to me. Pappas would have been a better pick.
Agreed. Stafford store is terrible at best. Sauce is tasteless, meat is either dry or fatty, sides are "OK." Too many good BBQ joints around town to waste your time FAUX Otto's. BBQ Barn on Wilcrest just north of US 59 is much better bet, or Brookside BBQ on HWY 6 between US 59 and HWY 90.
