It's just like someone plopped Lafayette, La., inside the Loop. The original Ragin' Cajun on Richmond, a casual and often raucus member of the Mandola family's culinary empire, serves up well-seasoned and generous portions of crawfish, boudin and etouffe. Chase a dozen oysters with a spicy Cajun Bloody Mary. Dat's good, cher.
The other locations are serving up the same fine foods, but without the spirit (and noise) of the original.
Vibe: Like sitting around the family dinner table, if your family sucks heads and drinks Dixie beer.
Happy Hour Specials: 3 p.m.-7 p.m. weekdays at all locations except Main Street store

Food is decent but they are the type of place that nickel and dimes their customers. Not a real big deal, but when you ask for a side of honey mustard, its brought to you, and then you find a 50cent charge on your bill, its just cheap. Its a sign of management that doesn't know how to price their food properly, or just wants to wring every dime out of every guest. Either way it turned me off.
I agree the Sugerland location is a bit expensive and will charge you for water!!!!!!!
The Richmond location is the best! I always feel like its Mardi Gras when I come here because everyone is having such a great time...
The Gumbo is great, but check out some of the other non-traditional menu items as well!
The Cajun Hot Wings are awesome , as are the burgers!
They also have a great Oyster Bar in the back with sports going on several Plasma TVs and a friendly bar staff.....
It may not be Cajun by Cajun standards, although west of LA it's as close as you'll get. Richmond location always busy, always good, always pricey but worth it. When I was waiting in the long line to be served the manager announced "take out your wallets, people - this ain't McDonald's!"
Placed my order for a deep fried turkey with dressing and sides for 20 people. Woodlake Square "lost" my order! Made no attempt at even rectifying the issue and the manager Eric seemed as though he couldn't care that they messed up our Christmas dinner!
The Mandola family is awesome so it’s hard for me to knock this place, but I have to be a critic here. I am Cajun so this is not Cajun food to me, however, it’s closer to Cajun food then most places that claim the title. The boodan could always be better, but he this is Texas, and I don’t feel like the price I spend is justified. With all that being said I will more than likely take people there in the future, it’s a fun place to go.
So you are cajun. You would think a REAL CAJUN would know how to spell boudin.

Maybe real cajun folks spell boudain differently.
