Considering Joe sold his recipes along with the restaurant and they still have the cook trained by him, I'm surprised by the idiocy of the comment by NeoMoose who acts as though they have first hand knowledge. With his blessing, and I do have first hand knowledge, Joe let go of Rockwell to pursue much talked about ideas of a new place. I find Rockwell's to have carried on Joe's tradition of good food and even further with the craft beers. We love the place and enjoy going to Love Shack for the outdoor atmosphere. I think Cypress is big enough for both.
I looked back over NeoMoose's posting history. It is obvious that he is a shill for the Love Shack. He unjustly attacts Rockwell at every opportunity. Based on the syntax and posting style, I suspect he does the same under at least one other user name.
I really like The Love Shack, and I love Rockwell. The Love Shack has a great patio, Rockwell has a great beer selection, and both have fabulous burgers. Cypress is big enough for both of them. I wish everyone understood that. Chill, Neo, chill. :-)
This place used to be so good. Then the ownership changed. Now it's so bad that Nicholas Cage is starring in a movie about it. Dry, overcooked burgers. Bad service. Beer prices are astronomical. There's hardly a reason to go by Rockwell anymore. Go on up the road about 30 more feet to PO's Burgers or head further out into Cypress to go to The Love Shack.
This place is even better than ever. I heard it had changed ownership but this place is forever good. I love a burger cooked to order instead of an assembly line burger and that is what you get at Rockwell. Pure cooked to order. I was in last month and there were people complaining about a 45 minute wait for good food but please you can't rush perfection and These burgers are that. It took me forever to get past the Instant Vintage but once I did I tackled the King Bubba and now my go to burger is the Outlaw. This thing is massive it is a 1/2 handmade patty, with bacon, american and cheddar cheese and of course all the usual condiments but comes with fry sauce instead of mayo! Did I forget to mention that it is TOPPED with a 1/4 pound of pastrami! All on that cheddar jalapeno bun. Served up with an Andgator or other craft beer, how can you go wrong. I'm getting hungry now!

Absolutely agree with Chilie.
