Spinach and Cheese Empanada Syd Kearney : 29-95
Intimate, a bit formal and dimly lit, the restaurant is from the same folks who had Chimi Churris on Bellaire several years ago. Their new place is located off Westheimer in a hidden strip center just inside the Beltway. You've gotta want to find it, and you should want to find it.
The kitchen turns out simple but superbly cooked meats, among which the entraña (grilled marinated skirt steak) is a standout. And don't miss the empanadas, which are artfully seasoned.
