Iconic seafood restaurant is one of the few businesses left standing in Hurricane Ike's wake. Once again the grill is on and perfectly cooked portions of the freshest seafood are pouring out of the kitchen.
Vibe: What doesn't kill us makes us stronger.
***** My wife and I took a week last January and drove the gulf coast from Port Isabel to Louisiana in search of a place to retire, and the Stingaree in our opinion is the best seafood we found on the Texas gulf coast. You can find more ambiance or pay higher prices but you can’t find better seafood! The “Stingers En Brochette” appetizers are fantastic; shrimp wrapped in pepper jack cheese then bacon and deep fried. I had the Shrimp lovers (which I am) platter with boiled shrimp, Cajun shrimp, char-coaled shrimp, fried shrimp, crab meat stuffed shrimp and shrimp etouffee. We ended with homemade chocolate cheese cake. It was all to die for! Good wine, fantastic food. The Stingaree may tip our retirement to Crystal Beach.
Hope you tried the remoulade sauce. Best I've ever had and I try it everywhere.
