Well, no more wondering.
Matt Brice who is taking over the much-lauded Branch Water Tavern has revealed the name of his new concept at 510 Shepherd. The Federal Grill will launch in March.
“We fell in love with the food, layout, design, and location. We knew we could make great things happen in this venue,” Brice said in a release Monday.
Brice, who bought the menu and recipes, as well as the building, plans to keep some of Branch Water’s more popular dishes, including the Bone Marrow, Roasted Beet Salad and Smoked Pork Chop. With Branch Water founder David Grossman sticking around through the transition, the restaurant already has added new menu items such as crab cakes and Truffle Mac & Cheese.
Federal Grill will be adapting its lunch menu, too, offering items that will allow diners to get in and out within 30 minutes.
“Setting a time and price point that will appeal to both those meeting for business and pleasure is first and foremost,” Brice said. Daily lunch specials will start at $10 and most items will be $12-$15.
The bar at Federal Grill also will be augmented with more tables and televisions to provide a pleasant spot for happy hour or a quick lunch.
Beginiing in March, the restaurant will open seven days a week and offer brunch on both Saturday and Sunday. The bar also will get extended hours.
“I want our guests to feel at home and well cared for, whether grabbing a quick lunch or an evening celebrating with friends and family,” Brice said. “For me, the answer will always be ‘yes’ … now what is the question?”
