Goat cheese and Drunkin Garlic Bread at Crisp.: Syd Kearney : 29-95
The folks behind Pub Fiction and Celtic Gardens have opened Crisp Wine, Beer & Eatery in the Heights neighborhood known as Shady Acres.
The contemporary dining room is augmented with a 5,000-square-foot family-friendly patio. And a separate take-out space offers not only food to go, but also wine by the bottle and growlers of craft brews.
The website shares a romantic story about the wine bar’s “Sauce” made with an owner’s family recipe. I can’t vouch for the story, but the sauce I tried the baked goat cheese appetizer was terrific.

$27.50 per person for lunch at Tradicao? No wonder their parking lot stays empty. There are a lot of laid off folks in the Clear Lake area.
Shady Acres is not the Heights. As a matter of fact, it's fun to go to open houses for the town homes there and watch the real estate agents dance around it. They want to make people feel that the property is in the Heights but they can't actually say it because then they'd be lying.
OMG! That sauce, cheese & drunken garlic bread dish looks awesome!
I need the recipe, no chance I would ever get to go to that restaurant, I'm over 100 miles away.
Cheese, sauce & garlic bread, what could possibly go wrong?
I'm going to spend all day trying to figure out how to make that, I have the cheese, garlic, & bread, I'll come up with something. lol
Shady Acres is NOT The Heights.....
I agree Shady Acres is not the Heights and so does the City since that side is not listed as the Heights in property tax!! Everybody wants to claim it since they are near.
Perhaps it is more a state of mind than an address, but my point is that Crisp's owners self-identify as being in Shady Acres in the Heights. From their website: "CRISP’s recently renovated single story, 6,000 sq. foot building sits alone on a corner lot in the heart of Shady Acres neighborhood in the Heights."
Who cares if it's Heights or not?
It's comical the way the term "The Heights" is used by businesses and people to enhance their stories and locations. As a 62 year old third generation native Houstonian, I laugh at the these folks using the "The Heights" to describe anything between Washington Ave on the south, I-45 on the east, 610 Loop on the north and 610 Loop on the west. NOT SO FOLKS!!! It's like calling 5th ward "River Oaks" or Spring Branch being referred to as "Memorial". GET IT RIGHT!!! A friend recently told me she just bought a place in the Heights, when inviting me over for a party, she gave me directions to Lazy Brook. IF YOU WANT TO CLAM "THE HEIGHTS" THEN BE IN THE HEIGHTS.
Right on, Mr. Bill! I went to Hamilton Middle School, so I can relate to what you are saying. If that's not The Heights, I don't know what is.
In fact, I remember when there were NO good eateries in the Heights way back when.
Thank god we've located you Bill! We've been looking for you for 3 days since you've wandered off.We have your meds to calm you down...
Shady Acres ain't the Heights. Period.
And be sure you refer to the Woodlands as THE Woodlands. Let's move on.
