Are you a foodie who likes to do good? Then mark Monday, Feb. 20 on your calendar to lend a hand during the first Houston Restaurant Weeks Foodie Volunteer Day at the Houston Food Bank.
If you’ve ever thought about volunteering at the Food Bank, this is the perfect opportunity. Block out noon to 4 p.m. for the shift, which will include a tour of the new Food Bank from noon to 1 p.m. then a shift from 1 to 4 p.m. The Houston Food Bank is at 535 Portwall St.
The day is open to anyone (foodie or not) because the Food Bank is always in need of volunteers. You’ll be able to see how the food bank works and how donations raised during Houston Restaurant Weeks are used.
And while you’ve got your calendar out, mark Aug. 1 to 31 for this year’s Houston Restaurant Weeks.
