Granted, it’s still a little warm for a mid-day al fresco lunch, but all that Halloween candy and black and orange decorations in the stores scream fall.
This week we’re looking for Houston Best Patio Scene. Our nominees range from high end restaurants to decidedly more humble digs. Vote in the poll below. If your favorite isn’t listed, you can write-in a candidate in the comments.
Voting ends 2 p.m. on Aug. 21.
You also can enter to win a $100 gift card by writing a “review” of your favorite patio scene in the comments below. For complete rules click here.
Can we stop with these lists already. It's getting weak. What's next? Best movie theater? Blah.
DANG!!....Live a little wouldja?!!!
It's simple. Don't click on these links.
FYI I wrote my comment bc I like to read the entertainment section of the chronicle and specifically the restaurant section. These lists are filling up their feed and I was telling them to knock it off bc they're grasping at straws w the latest lists! Why don't YOU stop clicking if you have nothing useful to add.
Well I like these "lists" because it encourages me to try out new restaurants. From the other restaurant lists, these links must be popular because posters are commenting right and left of their likes and dislikes. This is a great outlet. BTW I vote for the Rainbow Lodge Sunday brunch on the patio. I can't wait for fall.
SOO popular - 14 comments on this one versus the one for best burger (earlier list) garnered over 70 comments. Yes I can see why they should continue...
Tomorrow's steakhouse poll is the last of the year. Unless the guys in suits decide otherwise. And I should note that the guys in suits have been loving these polls. So just let it go, please. And move on to anything other than one of our polls.
El Pueblito's patio used to have a handful of tables covered stylishly in white linen canopies. Then they added more. Then they added more. Now it looks like a tropical pirate ship playland. I'll take the understated coolness of Boheme's patio (which includes easy access to an outdoor bar!).
Another 29.95 "Pick the best from our list" contest, not the best in town, but the best of what we give you to pick from.. I'll pass on yet another "loaded deck."
Next contest will be pick the best restaurant review and news website and the choices are 1. 29.93 2. Houston Chronicle, 3. 29.95, 4 Alison Cook, 5. Syd Kearney, and finally 6. Houston Chronicle..... AND THE WINNER IS _______!!
Exactly
Cedar Creek wins my vote!
Five Lone Star bottle caps to West Alabama Ice House! The WINNER.
Oh boy! The latest LIMITED LIST contest....
My favorite is Boheme, because I can sit outside with a glass of my favorite sangria in town while supporting the arts during the Cultured Cocktails nights.
Man, there is a picture in the slide show of Onion Creek and in the right side, a man with his arm around a woman? child? Can not figure that one out.
Onion Creek is always a great patio for breakfast, dinner, or late night drinks. Its quickly becoming a more chill alternative to the rest of the White Oaks bars in the area however one night we did happen to hang out with hundreds of colorful people on a naked bike pub crawl.
My vote goes to El Pueblito. I love the food, especially the vegetarian quesadillas and the red salsa. The patio is great, and the water features mean it is comfortable even during the hot summer months.
