Has it really been 10 years? Katz's Deli is celebrating its anniversary with 10 days of specially priced menu items. Each day, it's a new $10 deal.

Here's the rundown. Between 10 a.m.-10 p.m., $10 will buy you:

• 2 orders of fried pickles on Oct. 1;
• 2 cheesecake shakes on Oct. 2;
• 2 signature salads on Oct. 3;
• 2 Reuben sandwiches on Oct. 4;
• 2 Philly cheesesteak sandwiches on Oct. 5;
• 2 bagels with lox on Oct. 6;
• 2 Yankee pot roast sandwiches on Oct. 7;
• 2 hot dogs plus two sides on Oct. 8;
• 2 brownie boats on Oct. 9;
• and on, Oct. 10, you can pick from all the aforementioned specials.

Also on Oct. 10, the restaurant will be hosting a day-long pickle-eating contest. Come in some time between 10 a.m.-10 p.m., pay the $10 registration fee and then see how quickly you can consume 10 Katz's pickles. The quickest time wins someone $1,000. Participants also get a T-shirt.

Proceeds from the contest go to the Houston Police Department's Positive Interaction Program, which fosters trust between citizens and the police department.
