Blue Bell's new Lemon Bliss ice cream.
One way to describe Blue Bell’s new frozen flavor is that it’s not your grandfather’s lemon ice cream. Think of Lemon Bliss, a new flavor launched this month, as a lemon with a twist.
“This is not your average lemon ice cream,” Carl Breed, director of marketing, said of the lemon ice cream studded with vanilla cream-filled cookies.
The Brenham company got the idea for its new flavor from a friend of a Blue Bell employee who enjoys his lemon ice cream by adding cookies. So a sample was made and tested.
“Combining cookies with lemon ice cream may not seem like a natural blend, but once our panel tasted this combination we knew we had to produce the flavor in a half gallon for our fans to enjoy,” Breed said.
Lemon Bliss is a limited edition flavor. It sells for $7.19 for a half gallon and $2.15 for a pint.
Looks good, I hope the cookies don't ruin it.
I went out and got this. I like it but it's very sweet. I expected more lemon and less sugar taste. The cookies are not as sweet as the ice cream, that should give you an idea of how sweet it is. Doesn't replace the old staple of mint chocolate chip but it's not bad. I probably won't get it again though unless they lemon it up a bunch more.
Yes, it's overpriced ... Lemon Miss?
PLEASE I BEG YOU TO NEVER GET RID OF THIS FLAVOR. KEEP IT ALL YEAR LONG! IT IS SOOOOOO AMAZING! I'M NOT EVEN AN ICE CREAM GIRL.
